Day 0 of sourdough starter madness
Trying to make my own sourdough starter. I’m pretty sure that this way lies madness, but it could be fun. This is right after I mixed together 1 cup of organic unbleached white flour with 1 cup of filtered water.
It’s supposed to take up to 7 days to get started (to the point where the "wild" yeast has activated and is eating the sugars in the flour, creating their own air bubbles and alcohol as a result of fermentation.)
After the starter is going then I’ll try using it to make some sourdough bread of my own.

I think it's going to be a long-term project. Today I fed it some more flour and it liked that, starting to get bubbles already and it thickened up nicely. Smells sort of like fresh cut grass just a slight bit. Seems to be working so far. :)





Let me know how this works out. Was tempted to do the same this week, but chickened out!!!
