Swedish 4 Daler coin - Dated 1730
Just got this coin for our good friend Eric as a thank-you for pet-sitting and doing such a good job on our kitchen. It is copper and probably weighs at least 2 lbs. This piece is one of approximately 3,000 that were recovered from the shipwreck of a Danish ship called the Nichobar off Quoin Point, Cape Town, South Africa. It is one of the largest coins in the world. There are approximately 11,000 other copper plate money pieces in museums and private collections in the world.
In 1730 this was worth 4 Dalers. Today we bought it for $495.00 USD.
