And chops it up into 4 foot segments. The guy in orange was controlling the chopper told me that they custom developed the machine. The big round gear in back hauls the line out of the ground (contains ~ 1,300 strands of twisted pair copper).

The next step they’re going to take is to then lay fiber optic cable in the pipe that they pulled the copper out of.
