  • Cross-platform WordPress CSS

I’ll probably try to still work on the template so that it does work for IE some more and try to submit it for the WordPress CSS competition. Update: Didn’t submit the CSS. Missed the deadline. Oh well, never got around to doing the PC-IE compatible transparent backgrounds. I may still submit if we begin…

  • Working Music and Productivity

Listening to Radio Paradise right now, working on freelance projects. The latest is a web site for First Church Christ, Scientist in Hayward California, the church I attended growing up. Got the first layout finished and sent to the person in charge of leading the commitee for the project. I’ve noticed an interesting correlation between…

  • Disapointing ads for Superbowl

The ads were pretty disappointing for the Superbowl this year. The game was alright, but we didn’t see any ads that really pushed any boundaries. Some funny ones, but nothing groundbreaking. Oh well. Seems to reflect the general state of the nation / economy — more in conservative mode than in heady progress. Link to…

  • Changed background for the skin

Changed the background for the skin to another picture. So far I’m liking the big background pic w/ the text on top and translucent pngs. It would be cool to integrate a Gallery function to auto select a picture and “set as background” for the blog. Shouldn’t be too hard to implement. Link to share…

Here is how to take a stock Red Hat 9 installation that has been updated with the latest patches and allow…

  • Bug Stomping

It’s always gratifying to figure out a problem in an application and solve it. It would be very nice if IE supported .png files with transparency properly. Oh well. Link to share this: https://www.gabrielserafini.com/blog/2004/01/28/bug-stomping/

  • Screenshot of how this site should look in non IE browsers

Due to the problem that IE has with displaying transparent .pngs correctly, here is a screenshot of how this site should look in Mozilla, Firebird, Opera, Mac IE: Time for bed. Working on entry for CSS competition. Man, the IE transparent png issue is just a bummer but it still looks ok, just not perfect. 🙁 mmmmm…. tasty giant background jpg graphics! Link to share this: https://www.gabrielserafini.com/blog/2004/01/28/post-number-2/
