Gabriel – So I’m on FriendFeed now… Mar 19 2008

I can see why people like FriendFeed. It brings together lots of services, very easily, quickly, and more twitter-like and simple presentation than Tumblr which does much the same thing but shows larger versions of the content vs. smaller thumbnails. Also, the whole social aspect of it (the ‘friend’ part) is pretty sweet… see who is subscribed to who and easily add them yourself. Cool! 🙂

“Identity Theft” by Nellie McKay performed live on Prairie Home Companion on January 26, 2008 Feb 1 2008

Nellie McKay performing live on A Prairie Home Companion

Last Sunday as I was driving around doing some errands I was listening to A Prairie Home Companion on the local NPR station. Garrison Keillor introduced a singer, Nellie McKay, who sang a song that I enjoyed very much. Afterwards, I looked around to see if I could buy it on iTunes. When I tried to purchase the album I got an error, so I waited until the streaming audio was released. The MP3 below is taken from that stream so you can listen to it as often as you like.

You can listen to the whole show here.

Check her out on iTunes: Nellie McKay

Or purchase her album on Amazon’s MP3 Service (which is what I ended up doing).

Donors Flocking To $50,000 Facebook Contest To Help Save Endangered Frogs In Children’s Eternal Rainforest Jan 10 2008

Looks like the Children’s Eternal Rainforest Cause group is getting some attention:

I rivularis

Online social networking site Facebook.com is hosting a contest in partnership with The Case Foundation — the Causes Giving Challenge — that will award $50,000 to the non-profit organization that attracts the most individual donors over a 50-day period ending February 1, 2008. Out of over 50,000 individual registered Causes, one has been recently getting a lot of attention — the Children’s Eternal Rainforest. Only days after joining the contest, this group has rapidly risen to become the only environmental organization represented in the top 50 contest leaders.

  3. Open Miro, then click Channels > Add Channel. Paste in the subscription URL.
  4. The latest episode (season 2, episode 5) should begin downloading.
  5. Watch episode and ZOMG LOL.
  6. Enjoy the earlier season’s episodes and all new ones which will automatically download to your computer.

One of the funniest lines from this episode said by Moss:

Ah, well, prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie, that comes direct from the oven, of shame, set at gas mark egg on your face.

So freaking funny.

Enjoy.
