  • A recent favorite picture I took at the Missouri Botanical Gardens

Flowers in the Temperate House (next to the Climatron). I really like how the focus came out on this picture. You can see more of my favorite pictures in my Favorites set on Flickr. • New site design is live (also upgraded to the latest version of WordPress – 2.5)

In preparation for upgrading a whole mess of sites to using the latest version of WordPress I decided it was time to finally upgrade my own site and to implement the new design I’d been working on for a while (for over a year now). Check it out: www.gabrielserafini.com Link to share this: https://www.gabrielserafini.com/blog/2008/04/01/new-site-design-is-live-also-upgraded-to-the-latest-version-of-wordpress-25/

  • RSS2.com “Down for Maintenance” screen

Today, as we were working on speeding up RSS2.com SQL queries and also repairing the database, I had the opportunity to make a quick little "down for maintenance" screen. The boy is Jackson, my friend Damon’s kid. Thankfully the server wasn’t down for too long, and it’s running well now. • Barack Obama on Religion

Barack Obama is the most intelligent, reasoned politician I have ever heard. This video is remarkable. In it, he shares his views on religion and its role in a pluralistic, progressive society. My favorite passage of the speech (emphahsis added): And even if we did have only Christians in our midst, if we expelled every…

  • Missouri Says Obama FTW!

NPR and the AP called Missouri for Hillary Clinton earlier tonight. Barack went from ~30% won to 49.2%, FOR THE WIN. I am so proud to say that my vote helped prove them wrong. We showed them our "O" Face and it feels great. The Show Me State has Spoken: We want Barack Obama. We…

  • Michael came over and made baked pancakes that were spectacular

So tasty, cooked in a bed of golden melted butter in a well-seasoned iron skillet. Each one is baked for 13 minutes, and rises up over the edges of the pan. We made savory and sweet. Sweet didn’t have any additions to the pancake batter. The savory had pancetta and manchego cheese added. So good.…

We recently got the Children’s Eternal Rainforest set up as a Facebook cause, and managed to raise $490 in a 24 hour time period to help preserve more rainforest. Click…
